Opening Your Pool

The surface water that has gathered on your cover should be drained for easier cover removal. The Water Wizard Pump makes this task simple. Note: If you start pumping surface water and notice the cover sinking lower, it may have holes causing the removal of pool water from underneath the cover. Stop the pump, and drag the cover off to save water. Avoid getting unwanted debris in your pool by removing as much as possible before pulling the cover from the pool. Rinse your cover, and any water bags that may have been used, with fresh water and let them dry completely before folding and storing. STEP 2: Add Water Begin adding water to raise the pool to its normal level, about ¾ up the face of the skimmer. Make sure all drain plugs are replaced in pump, filter, heater and pool cleaners. Remove all winterizing plugs from the skimmer return lines. If Antifreeze was used in winterizing, vacuum out the lines or let it drain into the pool. Prime the pump and turn on the circulation and filtration system.
